ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Eid-ul-Adha is expected to be on May 27, Wednesday, this year in Pakistan, and it is likely that there will be 5 days of holidays on the occasion of Eid.
Due to the holidays being linked with the weekend, employees will be able to rest continuously from Wednesday to Sunday.
According to media reports, the first night of Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH is expected on May 17 or 18, in view of which Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated from May 27 to 29, however, the final announcement will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
In preparation for Eid, initial arrangements for setting up cattle markets have begun in various cities. Traders will bring sacrificial animals for sale in these markets.
On the other hand, there is also a possibility that Eid will be one day earlier in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries, as has often been seen in the past.
Eid-ul-Adha an important religious festival
It should be noted that Eid-ul-Adha is an important religious festival for Muslims, in which sacrifices are offered in remembrance of the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), and on this occasion, Muslims around the world celebrate this day with religious fervour.
Experts say that citizens should wait for the official announcement for the final date, as a one-day difference due to moon sighting is not unusual.
