ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Murad Saeed and de-notified him from the senatorship.
The ECP notification issued on Wednesday stated that the Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi handed down 10-year imprisonment to Murad Saeed.
Therefore, the commission has disqualified him under Article 63(1)(h) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and is de-notified, the notification stated. “Resultantly, his seat has become vacant.”
Murad Saeed was notified as a returned candidate on a general seat of the Senate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province on July 24, 2025.
