Earthquake tremors felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, KP cities

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted Islamabad and several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Swat, Upper and Lower Dir, and Buner, on Wednesday evening.

As per details, the tremors were also felt in Shangla, Malakand, Upper and Lower Chitral, and Bajaur.

The National Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 5.3, and the origin time was 6:27 pm, while the depth of the earthquake was 110 kilometers.

The tremors were felt in various areas, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

The intensity of the earthquake was recorded as 5.2 on the Richter scale, the depth was 190 km, while the epicenter was the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
