LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government has also announced the provision of an e-bike scheme 2026 for teachers in year 2026. This follows the successful launch of electric bike services for students in the province and follows the aim of improving the welfare of teachers in the province.
The aim of this scheme is to help teachers save transportation costs on a daily basis by commuting to schools and colleges. It has been announced by officials that through this scheme, environmental sustainability would also be promoted by encouraging eco-friendly cars like electric cars.
Eligibility Criteria
- The teaching staff working in the government schools and colleges of Punjab can apply for this program.
- Applicants should be in active service and should have the service requirements as stipulated by the education department.
- Female teachers can also be eligible for other benefits offered in the special relief package.
- It is ensured that only eligible teachers will be considered for this scheme.
How to Apply
The teachers will be able to apply through the application process once the scheme is launched.
Job applicants might be required to provide some basic personal and service-related details.
A minimum deposit is required in order to receive the electric bike.
The balance will, however, be covered by the institution through simple monthly payments. Expected Launch Although the final date of its launch has not been officially announced by the government, it can be expected that the Punjab Electric Bike Scheme for Teachers will be introduced in the first quarter of 2026.
