MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly held a session on Thursday, under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Chaudhry Riaz Ahmed.
During the session, Minister for Mangla Affairs Chaudhry Qasim Majeed presented the draft of ‘The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Income Tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025.”
The draft was referred to a select committee, comprising Leader of the Opposition Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Most Senior Minister Col. (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, government ministers Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Zafra Qabal Malik, Sardar Aamir Altaf, and Member of Legislative Assembly Hassan Ibrahim.
Furthermore, the draft bill of “Local Government and Rural Development Program Ordinance, 2025,” was also presented in the assembly.
The draft bill was referred to a select committee, comprising Most Senior Minister Col. (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, government ministers Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Member of Assembly Hassan Ibrahim, and Hafiz Hamid Raza.
In addition to that, the draft bill of “The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2025” and “The Muzaffarabad Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Muzaffarabad Act, 2025” were also presented, which were referred to the Standing Committee.
Earlier, the session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Member of the Assembly Hafiz Hamid Raza offered Fateha for the martyrs of the Israeli aggression in Gaza, the martyrs of the Pakistani army, the martyrs of Kashmir, and others who died, and prayed for the freedom of Palestine and Kashmir.
