MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Secretary Public Health Department, Azad Kashmir, has ordered immediate action against Dr. Uzma Ali Kanth, a doctor at Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Muzaffarabad, on allegations of immoral and indecent behavior.
The notice issued on Saturday stated that eye specialist Dr. Uzma, B-18, deprived a patient of treatment and misbehaved with the public.
Ordering the action, the Secretary of Public Health has appointed Dr. Maroof Khan, Joint Executive Director AIMS Muzaffarabad, as the fact-finding inquiry officer to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and submit a preliminary report within 24 hours.
The inquiry officer has been ordered to inquire into the FIR registered against Lady Dr. Uzma Ali Kanth regarding the misuse of her office stamp.
Moreover, the officer has been ordered to focus on the allegations of immoral and indecent behavior by Dr. Uzma with patients and the public, the steps taken by the hospital administration regarding the above two issues, and the justification for the strike notice given by the paramedical and other staff.
The earlier inquiry ordered on August 9, 2025, has been deemed cancelled, the notice stated.
