WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): US President Donald Trump has said that a deal with Iran could be reached soon, claiming that progress is being made through indirect negotiations facilitated via Pakistani diplomatic channels.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Trump stated that both direct and indirect contacts with Iran are ongoing and showing positive developments.
He also claimed that Iran recently allowed several Pakistani-flagged ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, with the number of such vessels reaching 20. According to Trump, the move was permitted by Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
The US president further warned that Washington could take stronger measures, including seizing Iran’s oil or targeting key facilities such as Kharg Island, a major oil export terminal.
Trump added that hundreds of US special operations forces have been deployed to the Middle East, underlining heightened regional tensions.
The remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts and uncertainty in the region, as global attention remains focused on the possibility of a breakthrough in US-Iran relations.
