BHIMBER (Kashmir English): The district administration of Bhimber issued a notice regarding a fraud group running a fake call to demand money from innocent citizens.
According to the notification, a few scammers are deceiving people by impersonating administrative officers and, on some occasions, demanding money through Easypaisa.
The administration has assured that it is taking every possible step to find out these fraudsters. However, the cooperation of the general public is urged that they must remain alert and vigilant when such calls are received.
Important Points to Remember
No government administrative officer will talk to you in public through normal phone calls. If you get a phone call pretending to be from an administrative officer, it’s a scam.
Be careful with demands for money to be paid through Easypaisa or any other money transfer applications; these are probably all scams.
In case of any suspicious call, immediately contact the nearest police station. Stay safe and always confirm the authenticity of calls and messages before doing anything.
