LEEPA VALLEY (Kashmir English): Tucked away in the breathtaking scenery of Leepa Valley lies enchanting “Kali Mandal village”, which is located just one kilometer from Munda Kali Bela.
This high-altitude village, due to its beauty, location and natural views, offers a glimpse of the famous place “Urang Kel” of the Neelum Valley.
Dense forests, picturesque waterfalls, and villages like Channiyan and Nokot nestled at the foot of the Shams Bari mountain are adding to the beauty of this place.
Behind Kali Mandal, there are also “Dongi Gali Peak” and the largest “Cham Waterfall” of Azad Kashmir, which can be easily reached on foot. This area has great potential for tourism but lacks government attention.
If the facilities of cable cars, signboards and guides are provided here, this place can be of importance for the promotion of regional tourism as a “mini Urang Kel”.
The lush pastures, flowing streams, mesmerizing breezes, flowing waterfalls, and natural serenity of Kali Mandal can provide a memorable experience for tourists.
There is a need for the government to take practical steps to put this spacious and beautiful place on the tourism map.
