JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): The Chief Electricity Officer of Jhelum Valley has issued an important public circular, clarifying that no donations or money will now be collected from the public for the repair of faulty or damaged transformers in any area.
According to the circular, the repair and maintenance of transformers is the sole responsibility of the Electricity Department, and demanding or collecting money from citizens for this purpose will be treated as an illegal act. The circular warns that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in such practices.
The Chief Electricity Officer has appealed to the public that if any official or individual demands money in the name of transformer repair, the matter should be immediately reported to the concerned department to ensure prompt action.
This move is being widely termed a positive step in the public interest, as it will protect citizens from unnecessary financial burden and curb unauthorized collections.
