ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English):  On the very first day of the year, direct flight options have been reinstated between Pakistan and Bangladesh, as the Pakistan government allowed Biman Airlines to initiate direct flights.

According to Express News, developments regarding aviation ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the early part of 2026 emerged after major strides were made in reviving direct flights between the neighboring nations.

It has been allowed for Bangladesh’s Biman Airlines to fly direct flights. The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan (CAA) has allowed Biman Bangladesh Airlines to operate flights directly from Dhaka to Karachi.

After getting approval from the concerned government authority, the Director General of the CAA has immediately issued a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) to Biman Bangladesh Airlines to operate flights directly to Karachi.

At the outset, the Biman Bangladesh Airlines operation has been allowed for a span of three months, until March 30, 2026.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will have to operate along specified routes through Pakistan’s airspace. Following the approval accorded to them to operate direct flights, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been allocated flight operation slots at Karachi Airport.
