ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday held a critical telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to address the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East.

The high-level discussion focused on the urgent need for regional de-escalation following a series of conflicts involving the United States, Israel, and Iran that have severely disrupted global energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to review the latest regional developments.

“Both leaders emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation to ensure peace and stability, and agreed to remain in close contact.”

Both leaders emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable paths to ensuring long-term peace and stability in the region.

Quadrilateral huddle on Middle East

The exchange follows a recent “quadrilateral huddle” in Islamabad involving the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt, where Pakistan has increasingly positioned itself as a key mediator.
