ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a major crackdown, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhwa, has swiftly acted against the renowned Kabul restaurant in F-7, Islamabad.

According to the details, the authority has sealed the outdoor dining space of the Kabul restaurant for violating the Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).

According to the CDA Officials, the restaurant insisted that its customers pay in cash while discouraging cashless payments to avoid taxation.

After verification, the enforcement team conducted an inspection and took action on the spot for non-compliance with SOPs requiring electronic payments for transparency in business dealings.

This measure aims to promote a cashless and documented economy that will strengthen the national revenue system. Similar action would be taken if any commercial establishment were found violating the digital payment regulations, officials stated.

The CDA, on its part, encourages the citizens to support the shift to digitalization by opting for card and digital payments and reporting of non-compliant businesses.

Kabul restaurant is a renowned fine dining space that specializes in making Afghan delicacies. The restaurant started in 1983 and is situated at the premium location of F-7, Islamabad.
