Captain (r) Liaqat Ali assumes charge as IGP Azad Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Captain (Retd) Liaqat Ali Malik has assumed the charge of the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP), Azad Kashmir, on Wednesday.

A decorated contingent of police presented a salute upon his arrival at the Central Police Office (CPO) in Muzaffarabad today.

Earlier, upon his arrival, officers of the Azad Kashmir Police Force, Principal Police Training School Muzaffarabad, SSP Kamran Ali, SSP Syed Riaz Bukhari, and SSP Mir Abid welcomed him.

After assuming charge, he immediately reached Police Lines Headquarters, Muzaffarabad, where he laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the police martyrs.

On this occasion, a decorated contingent of police saluted the martyrs for their eternal sacrifice.

A dinner was held in honor of the new IG Azad Kashmir Liaqat Ali Malik at PC Muzaffarabad, where issues of mutual interest and issues related to the Azad Kashmir Police were discussed in detail.

IG AJK Liaqat Malik visited the IT Wing of the Central Office of Police after assuming regular charge.

On this occasion, Mir Muhammad Abid Sahib, Assistant IGP (In-charge IT Projects), gave a briefing regarding IT projects.

The Inspector General of Police appreciated the performance, congratulated him, and issued instructions to accelerate the process of digitalization in the police.
