KARACHI (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has dismissed media reports suggesting an eight-day closure of the new Islamabad International Airport as unfounded.

There were media reports that due to rehearsals and arrangements for the 14th August Independence Day events, the airport will remain closed for eight days in August.

According to an official spokesperson, due to preparations for Independence Day celebrations and related aerial activities, flight operations will be suspended temporarily on specific dates and during limited hours.

Airlines have been instructed not to schedule flights during these hours.

The spokesperson clarified that the restriction applies only to short intervals, and flight operations outside these hours will continue as normal.
