MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In a gesture of philanthropy, the members of the British Muzaffarabadi community have donated a state-of-the-art dialysis machine to Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) Hospital, Muzaffarabad.
The donation has been widely praised as a life-saving contribution for kidney patients in the region.
The generous contribution not only included the provision of the dialysis machine but also a complete renovation and upgradation of the hospital’s dialysis unit, significantly improving the environment and care facilities for patients.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Maroof, Executive Director of AIMS Hospital, expressed gratitude and emphasized the urgent need for such support.
“The number of dialysis patients is increasing rapidly, and our existing machines were insufficient to meet the growing demand,” Dr. Maroof stated.
“This new machine will allow us to treat more patients daily, reducing the painful waiting periods. This is not just a machine—it is a life-saving gift,” he said.
The contribution was made possible by prominent members of the British Kashmiri diaspora, including Afsar Dar, Dr. Yahya, and others.
A ceremony was organised on the occasion, attended by hospital administration, senior doctors, nurses, patients’ families, and members of the local community.
Participants lauded the generous spirit of the British Muzaffaradi community and called it a symbol of enduring emotional ties between overseas Kashmiris and their homeland.
