According to the article, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is giving a new direction to US relations. His private meeting with former US President Donald Trump at the White House on June 18 has been described as the beginning of a diplomatic change in the region.

According to the magazine, the US has imposed a 25 percent tariff on India, calling it a “dead economy”, while announcing a trade agreement with Pakistan, only a 19 percent tariff has been imposed.

The US is working to restore trade, arms, and counter-terrorism cooperation with Pakistan, signaling a major shift in US policy in South Asia, China, and the Middle East.

According to The Economist, a US official has also acknowledged Pakistan’s actions against ISIS. The US is considering providing Pakistan with armored vehicles and night vision devices, while US policymakers are also reviewing India’s subversive activities.

The article also states that global diplomats and investors are in direct contact with the field marshal. He has maintained balanced relations with China and the Gulf countries. The field marshal’s popularity has increased further after the recent conflict with India.

According to the journal, the field marshal has taken effective countermeasures against India despite foreign pressure, while President Trump’s close circle is keen to invest in Pakistan’s crypto and mining sectors.
