ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched an extensive awareness initiative across the country to educate people on the registration process for its dynamic survey, a mean to access financial assistance under the Benazir Kafalat Program.
The Benazir Kafalat Program was launched across Pakistan in 2008 and has been a flagship initiative of the support programme, ensuring quarterly stipends of Rs 13,500 to low-income families.
The recently launched BISP dynamic survey is aimed to update demographic statistics and ensure that only the most deserving households benefit from the government-initiated social protection programme.
Registration process for BISP survey
Entitled families must visit their nearest BISP Tehsil Registration Centre and follow these steps:
Token collection from the registration desk
Have an interview with the staff
Provide accurate information about household’s current circumstances
Receive a confirmation receipt upon completion
After registration, applicants will receive a confirmation message from 8171, which will also notify them of their eligibility status.
To ensure a smooth registration process, BISP has directed the deserving people to report at the centres with certain documents.
They have been asked to bring original CNIC and B-form of children, and carry a recent electricity bill for verification. The applicants have been asked to use their mobile number for communication.
Registration is free of cost and any demand for payment is illegal. In recent months, the BISP has expanded its outreach by deploying mobile vans in remote areas and launching a dedicated app for dynamic BISP Dynamic Survey tracking. The existing beneficiaries are required to undergo biometric verification and data updates. Families who have been receiving aid for over three years must re-register to avoid disqualification.
Furthermore, BISP is working with the State Bank of Pakistan to open individual bank accounts for over 9 million women beneficiaries in a move aimed at enhancing transparency and financial autonomy.
