Bhimber Patwari suspended for transferring land on fake record

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Commissioner Mirpur Division Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain has approved immediate suspension of patwari Abdul Kareem from Bhimber Revenue Department over transferring 361 kanals of land in Moza Kas Chanatar, District Bhimber, to one Abdul Rasheed through a fraudulent and fictitious record of rights, based on preliminary investigations and an inquiry report which found the patwari guilty.

The action has been taken under the Service Rules Act 1977. Additionally, to ensure a clear, transparent, and impartial investigation into the matter, the Additional Commissioner Mirpur Division has been appointed as the inquiry officer.

Patwari misused powers

According to details, Commissioner Mirpur Division Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain was approached by the complainants, Muhammad Ijaz etc, residents of Pehuna Mor, Tehsil and District Bhimber, through a written application requesting legal action against patwari Abdul Kareem for having misused his powers by transferring land measuring 361 kanals and 15 marlas located in Moza Kas Chanatar, Tehsil and District Bhimber, under the name of his real brother, Abdul Rasheed son of Ghulam Ahmad, through a forged and fictitious record of rights.

When proceedings started against the patwari, it was found that Assistant Commissioner Barnala and the Extra-Assistant Commissioner Bhimber have already recommend disciplinary action against the said patwari based on the inquiry.

The aforementioned act has been found in violation of service rules, administrative and governmental discipline, and is subject to accountability.

Therefore, based on the powers conferred by the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Discipline and Conduct) Rules Act 1977, disciplinary action was approved against Abdul Kareem, currently posted in the Revenue Department of District Bhimber, for the unlawful transfer of land in Moza Kas Chanatar, Tehsil Bhimber, in violation of rules and entitlement.

To ensure a transparent, impartial, and independent investigation process, the mentioned patwari has been immediately suspended from service.

Given the seriousness of the allegations, the Additional Commissioner Mirpur Division has been appointed as the inquiry officer, who will ensure the completion of the inquiry within the stipulated timeframe and present final recommendations.
