TIRAH VALLEY (Kashmir English): The Bara Political Alliance’s jirga members strongly criticized the provincial government for corruption and political interference in the distribution of four billion among the victims of Tirah.

This jirga was convened in Bara today at the demand of tribal elders and elders representing Tirah. The Bara Jirga decided on the future course of action on the situation arising due to the mismanagement of the provincial government.

The agenda of the national jirga was presented by the former chairman of Bara Political Alliance, Haji Shireen Afridi. The jirga criticized the provincial government for mismanagement in Tirah.

The jirga members paid tribute to the security forces for establishing peace in the region. The Bara Political Alliance announced complete solidarity, sympathy, and full support to all the affected families displaced from Tirah.

We held two jirgas with the Khawarij, after which we handed over the responsibility of the jirgas to the provincial government and the elders, but both jirgas failed, according to the former chairman of Bara Political Alliance Haji Shireen Afridi.

The problems of the victims of Tirah are not limited to any one region or tribe, but it is a collective national problem, the solution of which cannot be delayed any longer. The Bara Political Alliance demanded immediate implementation of the agreed declaration.

Bara Political Alliance added that Complete peace should be restored immediately in the Tirah Valley, and a clear guarantee of sustainable peace should be given in the future.

Actions like firing, shelling, mortar attacks on houses, and downing of quadcopters by Khawarij in Tirah should be stopped immediately, as these actions are causing fear and panic among the common citizens, said the Bara Political Alliance elders.

The honorable return of the victims should be ensured, and all promises and agreements made with the victims should be recognized and implemented in writing and practically.

Bara Political Alliance emphasized that “An impartial investigation should be conducted into political interference, nepotism, administrative incompetence, and corruption in the registration process of Tirah victims, and action should be taken against the responsible elements.”

All residents of valley  who own houses or properties should be fully registered by giving them IDP status, and all should be included in the relief package. The law and order in Upper Bara and Bara Plain areas has become alarming, which should be controlled on an emergency basis, said the elders of Bara Political Alliance.

“A peace movement will be launched in Bara from today to establish peace so that a safe environment can be provided to the people

The provincial government should fulfill its constitutional responsibility to end kidnapping for ransom, threatening calls, and fear and panic among ordinary citizens by Khawarij in Bara and protect the people,” Bara Political Alliance noted.

The Bara Political Alliance reiterates its resolve that it will stand with the victims of Tirah at every forum and continue its struggle until their rights are achieved.
