DHAKA (Kashmir English): The Bangladesh women’s cricket team’s tour of India has been postponed due to political tensions between the two countries.

Reports indicate that the decision to reschedule the series, which was set for the next month, came from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following a recommendation from the Indian government.

Original Bangladesh cricket team’s schedule

The Bangladesh women’s team was scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is in India in December 2025.

Citing prevailing diplomatic tensions, the BCCI informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board of the decision to reschedule.

According to sources, the political situation following a death penalty sentence handed down in Dhaka to former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid was a key factor. No new dates have been announced for the series.

The development follows the postponement of the Indian men’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh, which was originally scheduled for August 2025 and is now set for September next year.
