RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Bangladesh and New Zealand will collide each other in the sixth match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium here today (Monday).

The Group A encounter will start at 2 pm. It will be a do-or-die situation for the 2017 semi-finalists, Bangladesh who need a win to keep their semis hopes alive.

On the other hand, the 2000 winners of the Champions Trophy, New Zealand are looking to make a place in the top four.

Bangladesh had won the last Champions Trophy meeting with New Zealand.

Contrasting starts to Champions Trophy campaign

Both teams have had contrasting starts to their campaign in Group A. Bangladesh suffered a defeat at the hands of India in their opening match. However, New Zealand secured an early win against Pakistan.

New Zealand have been in excellent form in ODIs. Bangladesh, on the other hand, need a strong comeback to stay alive in the semi-final race. A win for New Zealand will almost guarantee their berth in the semi-finals.

Bangladesh and New Zealand have faced each other 45 times in ODIs since their first meeting way back in 1990, with New Zealand securing 33 wins, while Bangladesh have managed 11 victories.

It is interesting to note that New Zealand have won all the last five matches played against Bangladesh. New Zealand will also be high in confidence after defeating hosts Pakistan in the tournament opener.

This will be the first-ever ODI meeting between Bangladesh and New Zealand at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This also marks their first encounter on Pakistani soil.
