BAGH (Kashmir English): In a recent successful operation, the Bagh Police recovered a stolen car during a routine checkpoint in the city. Acting on the directions of SSP Bagh Raja Akmal Khan and DSP Headquarters Syab Ahmad Abbasi, local police have increased efforts to crack down on criminal activity in the region.
During a routine vehicle check, SHO City Police Station Bagh Rafaqat Ilyas Abbasi, along with officer Saleem Khan from the IHC, stopped a vehicle and discovered it to be a stolen 2D car. The car was immediately seized, and the suspect was taken into custody for questioning.
According to the Bagh Police, the suspect claimed that he had purchased the car legally, but was unable to present any solid documentation or proof of ownership. Officials have stated that if the suspect fails to provide valid evidence of the transaction, legal action will be initiated against him under applicable laws.
This recovery is part of a broader campaign by Bagh Police to tackle car theft and illegal vehicle trade in the region. Law enforcement officials are actively monitoring suspicious activity and have urged the public to remain cautious when buying or selling vehicles.
A Bagh Police spokesperson issued a public advisory, urging citizens to document all vehicle transactions in writing and in the presence of witnesses. This, they say, will help prevent individuals from unknowingly becoming involved in criminal investigations or legal complications.
The swift response and effective coordination by the Bagh Police highlight their commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of the public.
