LAHORE (Kashmir English): Passing through the toughest times of his 13 years career, Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam hit a new low with scoring just 3 runs in first three games of the PSL 2025.
Azam, known for his superb performance and consistency, has disappointed his fans in the opening three matches of the PSL by registered scores of 0, 1, and 2, which not only reflects he is passing through hard times but also poses a potential worry for his team, Peshawar Zalmi.
Babar Azam PSL performance
Babar’s poor performance has also raised concerns among fans and analysts alike.
Notably, it has been nearly two years since Babar Azam last scored a century in international match, with his last three-figure score coming against Nepal in August 2023.
Though he managed to score a series of fifties across all formats, providing some solace to his fans.
It is to note-worthy that Babar Azam had scored an impressive 569 runs in the previous edition of the Pakistan Super League and expectations for Babar were high heading into PSL this year.
Fans hoped that not only would he continue to pile up runs, but also break his century drought.
However, those expectations seem far from having fulfilled given his performance in the early stages of the tournament.
It is the first time in his 13-year career that he has been dismissed for three consecutive scores of less than three runs in T20 cricket, reflecting a significant dip in his usually superb performance.
With the Peshawar Zalmi just registering their first win in PSL 2025, the pressure remains on Babar to return to form in the upcoming matches.
