LEEPA VALLEY (Kashmir English): Following the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), in which at least 26 tourists lost their lives, citizens of Azad Kashmir have voiced strong condemnation, calling out what they describe as a deliberate and familiar strategy by India to malign Pakistan and justify further oppression in the region.
Residents from the Line of Control border area Leepa Valley, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) strongly rejected India’s instant accusation of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam attack.
Local residents believe this incident happens in a predictable way when foreign dignitaries particularly Americans visit India. “This is not a coincidence but a calculated move,” said a local interviewed by Kashmir Digital.
Citizens believe that India has long used such incidents to divert international attention from the deteriorating human rights situation in IIOJK. They accused Indian intelligence agencies of orchestrating false flag operations and pointed to the timing of the attack, which occurred during a high-level US visit, as further proof of foul play.
“Whenever American officials are in India, we see attacks like this. It’s not random. It’s staged to make India look like a victim and Pakistan the culprit,” said one resident, adding that the world is slowly waking up to this manipulation.
People in Leepa Valley questioned how an attack of such magnitude could happen in a heavily militarised zone like Pahalgam, where over four lakh Indian troops are reportedly stationed. “How can you have so many soldiers and still fail to stop an attack? It only makes sense if they were part of it,” one villager remarked.
Social media activists and commentators pushed international organizations to perform independent investigations of the Pahalgam attack while expressing security threats in Kashmir. They cited past incidents, like the Chattisinghpora massacre, which were also allegedly used to push anti-Pakistan narratives.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Office expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the victims’ families. The government reaffirmed its stance on regional peace and condemned the baseless allegations levelled by Indian media.
Locals vowed that if India attempts any further aggression, it will be met with a firm response. “India’s double standards have been exposed. The world must now look beyond the surface and demand truth,” said another resident.
As calls grow louder for accountability and truth, the Pahalgam attack has become yet another flashpoint in the ongoing information war over Kashmir, and the voices from Leepa Valley are not staying silent.
