MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir weather update: The weather in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is set to be a mix of sunshine and clouds today, with generally sunny conditions expected throughout the day.
As of May 26, 2025, there will be a mix of sunshine and clouds with a high temperature of 87°F. Winds will be from the West-Southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Humidity is at 44 per cent, and the UV index is at 10 out of 11, which is very high. Therefore sun protection is advised. Sunrise was at 4:57AM, and sunset is expected at 7:06PM.
As for the night, the sky will be mostly clear with a low of 69°F. Winds will be light and variable. Humidity will rise to 59 per cent making it feel a bit muggy, and the UV index drops to 0.
Moonrise is expected at 3:49AM, and moonset at 6:32PM. The moon will be a waning crescent.
A waning crescent is the last phase of the Moon. During this phase, only a thin slice of the Moon is visible on the far side of its viewable surface, compared to the rising crescent. It will then disappear into the new Moon phase.
Azad Kashmir Weather: Extended update
The week ahead will bring mostly warm and partly cloudy weather.
Tuesday starts with highs near 83°F and lows around 66°F, with just a 15 per cent chance of rain and light winds from the south.
Wednesday will be slightly warmer at 88°F, with only a 6 per cent chance of showers and gentle southwest breezes.
Thursday and Friday will continue the trend of partly cloudy skies, with temperatures hovering in the mid-80s during the day and dropping to the mid-60s at night.
Rain chances increase slightly to 24 per cent on Thursday but remain low for Friday at 23 per cent.
Things change on Saturday, as morning thunderstorms are possible with a 41 per cent chance of rain.
Despite the storms, temperatures will stay mild, reaching 83°F during the day and cooling to 62°F overnight.
By Sunday, the weather clears up again, with partly cloudy skies, highs of 87°F, and only a small 7 per cent chance of rain.
