MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has completed phase 3 of the project to provide travel facilities to students of government colleges and universities across the state.
The Higher Education Department, under phase 3 of the project, provided 31 modern buses to government colleges of Poonch, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur divisions, and Bhimber University, which will facilitate access to thousands of students.
Under phase 1 and phase 2 of the project, 56 buses have already been handed over to government colleges, with priority to girls’ colleges.
Under phase 3, a total of 83 colleges have been given with one bus each and 4 buses to Bhimber University through the Planning Department of the Higher Education Department.
As per details, buses were provided to 10 colleges of the Poonch division at a ceremony held at the Government Boys Postgraduate College Rawalakot.
Furthermore, Six colleges of the Muzaffarabad division, 11 colleges of the Mirpur division and 4 buses of Bhimber University will be handed over to the colleges after Eid-ul-Fitr by holding separate official ceremonies at the district headquarters of Mirpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad.
Under the project, one institution in the Jhelum Valley district, and 2 institutions in Neelum Valley including Girls Degree College Keel, and Model Science College Kundal Shahi are included.
Three institutions in Muzaffarabad district include Boys Degree College Balsari, Boys Degree College Anwar Sharif and Boys Postgraduate College Muzaffarabad.
Three institutions in the Bagh district including Boys Postgraduate College Bagh, Model Science College Bagh, and Boys Degree College Dhirkot have also received buses.
Moreover, Boys Inter College Khurshidabad in Haveli Kahuta district and four colleges in Rawalakot including Model Science College Rawalakot, Girls Inter College Thorad, Boys Degree College Hajira, and Boys Postgraduate College Abbaspur also received student buses.
Two colleges in Sidhanoti district including Boys Degree College Mang and Boys Degree College Tarar Khul have also received buses.
In Kotli, six more institutions including Boys Postgraduate College Kotli, Boys Degree College Sahansa, Boys Degree College Tatta Pani, Boys Degree College Fatehpur Thakiala, Boys Degree College Khoi Ratta, and Girls Degree College Tatta Pani, have received buses.
Girls Degree College Islamgarh, Girls Inter College Jatlana, and Boys Degree College Dadial in Mirpur will receive buses after Eid.
In addition to that, four buses will be provided to Bhimber colleges, which include Girls Degree College Sukasan, Girls Inter College Thathi Kasgama, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir University of Bhimber.
