ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Several reports have been circulating in the media regarding the appointment of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir as Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces (CDF).
Earlier, several social media accounts and a prominent private news channel reported that the government has notified the appointment of Field Marshal Asim Munir as CDF.
The notification, which has been termed ‘fake’, stated that the President of Pakistan, on the advice of the Prime Minister, has entrusted Asim Munir with the responsibility of the newly created post of Chief of Defence Forces with immediate effect.
