MUMBAI (Kashmir English): Famous Indian Singer Arijit Singh has announced his retirement from playback singing, leaving his fans in shock.
He made this announcement through an emotional message on his Instagram account, which surprised his fans. In his message, Arijit Singh wrote, “Hello, Happy New Year to everyone. I am grateful for the love I have received from my fans over the years.”
Arijit said, “I am happy to announce that I will not be doing any new work as a playback singer now, I am ending it here, it has been a wonderful journey.”
His announcement was met with a strong reaction from fans on social media. According to Indian media, Arijit Singh did not explain the reasons for his decision or his plans.
The song Tum Hi Ho from the film Aashiqui 2 became his hallmark. Apart from this, he has given many hits in his singing career as a playback singer.
Arijit has won 2 National Film Awards and was also awarded the Padma Shri in 2025.
