SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed grave concern over the escalating Indian state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), saying that the brutal actions of Indian forces have turned the lives of Kashmiris into a living nightmare.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas asserted that Kashmiris are simply demanding their internationally recognized right to self-determination, yet they continue to face harsh oppression from India.

Special status of occupied Kashmir

He pointed out that since the BJP-led Indian government’s illegal revocation of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019, repression has intensified against Kashmiris, with India now engaged in a calculated effort to alter the territory’s demographic composition.

He further highlighted that the RSS-backed Modi government is continuously attempting to mislead the international community with its false narrative about the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

However, the international community remains steadfast in recognizing the region as a disputed territory and refuses to accept India’s claims.

Minhas emphasized that India will never succeed in crushing the Kashmiris’ spirit of freedom through its brutal and unjust policies. The Kashmir dispute, he said, is a well-established reality, and until it is resolved, the dream of lasting peace and development in the region will remain unfulfilled.

The APHC spokesperson urged the United Nations to urgently address the ongoing repression and political injustices faced by Kashmiris in IIOJK, and to play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with its own resolutions.
