ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has categorically rejected any comparison between its counterterrorism operations against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideouts along the Pak-Afghan border and India’s illegal attacks on mosques and madrasas in Bahawalpur and Muridke, terming it “entirely wrong and inappropriate.”

In a post on X on Tuesday, the minister said that Pakistan’s actions were based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of foreign terrorist elements operating from across the border.

The United Nations and the international community are also fearful of terrorism in Afghanistan under the Afghan Taliban’s shadow, and the terrorist formations and terrorists arriving daily from Afghanistan into Pakistan are clear proof of this,” he wrote.

The statement further noted that India has not been able to provide evidence to this day regarding the Pulwama attack, whereas Pakistan even offered neutral investigations.

“The report issued by the United Nations also clarifies that the Indian aggression was illegal and unsubstantiated, and Pakistan’s response was fully justified,” Khawaja Asif said.

He further reiterated that Pakistan has consistently dispelled allegations and suspicions propagated by India and its proxies and their sympathizers and will continue to expose false narratives at all forums.
