ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam has pledged to provide all possible assistance to the Azad Kashmir government to deal with climate change issues.
According to the details, Speaker Azad Kashmir Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, along with Ministers Sardar Javed Ayub and Sardar Zia Al Qamar, held an important meeting with Advisor to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam.
On this occasion, the Speaker Azad Kashmir Assembly said that environmental changes have taken over the world, environmental problems are increasing day by day due to reduction in rainfall, deforestation and increase in urban population, for which there is a need to work together.
He said that due to the decrease in the flow of rivers in Azad Kashmir, especially in Muzaffarabad, due to the tunnels created by the construction of dams, the intensity of heat has increased and the water level in villages has gone down, which needs to be improved.
He said that we have to save our forests and focus on tree plantation, along with taking steps to reduce the emission of ozone-depleting gases.
Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Romina Khurshid said that there are more environmental problems in industrial areas because the set regulations are not followed there.
She said that the world is taking this problem very seriously and steps are being taken to solve it. Electric vehicles are being encouraged so that fuel consumption is minimized.
At the end of the meeting, the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan also presented a souvenir to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar. The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly thanked Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam.
