AJK Supreme Court working hours changed for summer season

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has revised the working hours of all apex court offices in view of the summer season.

According to the notification, Chief Justice Azad Kashmir ordered that the new working hours of the offices of the Supreme Court at Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, and Rawalakot during the summer will be effective from Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

“The new timigns were issued by Chief Justice AJK uncer Order II rule I of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Rules, 1978,” the notification read.

As per details, the top court offices will remain open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday to Thursday and Saturday. The break for Zohar Prayer will be from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Similarly, for Friday, the duty hours will be run from 8:30 a.m. till 12:00 pm.

Earlier, the High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) announced that the petition seeking the nullification of Anwarul Haq’s election as Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir will be heard on Wednesday, April 16.

Chief Justice HC Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja has constituted a division bench comprising Justice Syed Shahid Bahar and Justice Sardar Ijaz and issued notices to the parties.

Former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan filed a writ petition in the High Court in October 2024, challenging the AJK PM’s election and seeking the court to declare the election null and void.
