MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The spokesperson for Azad Kashmir Police has stated that Azad Kashmir Police is a professional and disciplined force, adding there is no truth in reports of police force going on strike today.
He said the force is always ready to protect the lives, property, and dignity of the public and to ensure the internal security of the state. “Rumours of protests are circulating on social media, but there is no truth in it.”
He said that fabricated and baseless news is circulating on social media about Azad Kashmir police going on strike today, July 21, due to no increase in salaries and allowances.
Rumours a conspiracy to erode public trust in police
These rumours are solely a systematic conspiracy to erode public trust in the police force and to mislead the police force from their duties, the spokesman said and added mischievous elements aim to achieve their nefarious objectives.
The spokesman said that through the efforts of senior officers of Azad Kashmir police and the special interest of the government, along with an increase in salaries and allowances for the police force, modern technology, vehicles, and other necessities have also been provided in accordance with contemporary requirements.
“Regarding further increases in salaries and allowances, the homework has been completed and is in the approval stages at the competent forum, which will be finalized soon.”
The spokesman further said that the police force has no link with Monday’s strike. Action will be taken against such rumour-mongers and conspiratorial elements in accordance with the law, he warned.
