MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Employees of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police department have expressed anger and frustration over disparities in wages and allowances currently being paid to them and employees of the other state departments.
Police Welfare Association
The Police Welfare Association Azad Kashmir, a representative body of the employees, has come forward with heavy demands so as to get the allowances revised in line with what the other state employees are getting at time.
In what seems to be a charter of demands, the Welfare Association demanded that the Risk Allowance should be paid @2022 instead of 2008. It also sought revision of Fixed TA/DA @2020 and not 2012.
Further demands include award of Special Allowance as per the rate of what is being paid to employees in other departments; disparity allowance be revised; disparities in allowances be ceased; police personnel be paid for uniform kit as per the revised rates; and ration allowance be increased keeping in view inflation in the country.
The employees’ representative body also sought increase in medical allowance, conveyance allowance, house rent, and other allowance to mitigate financial woes of the employees.
