ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, has said that the government’s foremost priority, as a base camp, is the Kashmir issue.
Addressing a meeting of the parliamentary party, the Prime Minister noted that a Kashmir Committee, headed by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, is actively engaged in this regard.
Referring to the upcoming protests, he made it absolutely clear that there would be no compromise on the rule of law.
He added that citizens’ lives and property will be protected and their right to free movement guaranteed, warning that coercion or intimidation will not be tolerated.
Nothing beyond constitution acceptable: PM
He further emphasized that nothing beyond the constitution and law would be accepted.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the development process will continue with full momentum and expressed confidence that Azad Kashmir would become a true welfare state.
The parliamentary party, on the occasion, expressed full confidence in his leadership. The meeting also reviewed the prevailing situation in Indian occupied Kashmir, the overall political situation, and ongoing development projects in Azad Kashmir.
