JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq held a meeting with the Chairman of the District Council Jhelum Valley, Tayyab Manzoor Kayani, to address various issues faced by the District of Jhelum Valley.
In the meeting, the PM and the chairman addressed the issues including legislation for local bodies, the provision of funds, and other pressing matters which are currently faced by the Jhelum administration.
Prime Minister Haq assured Chairman Kayani that he is aware of these issues and will take concrete actions soon to address them.
He emphasized to Chairman Kayani that local bodies are important to resolving public issues and he would work to assist them in remaining consistent.
Furthermore, he emphasized the key role the local body system has for system-dignified democratic societies to make decisions at the local level and for local people to access basic packages of facilities.
Prime Minister Haq stated he would work to ensure there is necessary legislation and financial resources to make local bodies more functional in Azad Kashmir.
Chairman Kayani thanked the Prime Minister and expressed hope that the government would promote development in Jhelum Valley and other Districts facilitating solutions for the people.
