NEELUM (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Faisal Mumtaz Rathore paid a late-night visit to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Athmuqam, reviewing medical services and facilities available to patients in the emergency and other departments.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Most Senior Minister Mian Abdul Waheed Advocate and Minister for Public Health and Population Welfare Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi during the inspection.
During the visit, the Prime Minister inquired about the treatment arrangements in the emergency section and inspected various units of the hospital. He also received a detailed briefing on the availability and performance of doctors, nursing staff, and paramedical teams.
Taking notice of the healthcare needs of the region, the Prime Minister directed authorities to prepare a feasibility study for establishing an operational smart ICU at DHQ Athmuqam.
In a major development, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore announced the upgrading of the hospital from 60 beds to 100 beds, aiming to accommodate the growing patient load.
He also indicated that the hospital would soon be provided with a winter heating system, additional fuel funds, and the early deployment of specialist doctors and medical officers to ensure better healthcare services for residents of Neelum Valley.
