MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has announced the establishment of an Emergency Response Fund in the wake of possible Indian aggression in Azad Kashmir amid the rising tensions between the two countries.
Addressing the AJK Legislative Assembly, the premier announced that one billion rupees would be allocated initially.
Moreover, the concerned authorities have been instructed to ensure the provision of essential food, medicines, and other basic facilities for the residents of 13 constituencies located on the Line of Control.
AJK PM Chaudhry has directed to ensure food requirements in these constituencies for 2 months.
Addressing the Legislative Assembly, the Azad Kashmir Prime Minister said that the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), Rescue 1122, and Civil Defense will remain active and work with the Pakistan army to deal with any possible aggression by India.
The premier has also announced that police stations adjacent to the Line of Control will remain active, and two hundred volunteers will be recruited.
He also said that roads located along the Line of Control will be kept operational in all cases, for which instructions have been given to the relevant departments. Along with government machinery, private machinery is also being taken to restore the road in an emergency.
The Prime Minister also reiterated his resolve to deal with possible aggression by India, adding that the nation is with the Pakistani army to deal with any Indian escalation.
“We are all united on the issue of national security, and we stand with the armed forces of Pakistan,” he maintained.
