MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) Waqar Ahmed Noor, the Interior Minister accuses  Indian Army and intelligence agencies of destabilising Azad Kashmir by engaging in sabotage, drug smuggling, and ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), prompting Pakistan to protest and present evidence to the United Nations (UN).

The Indian Army together with their intelligence agencies have increased their subversive operations in AJK’s peaceful areas according to Azad Kashmir’s Interior Minister Waqar Ahmed Noor as he believes these actions are meant to create fear and unrest.

He revealed Indian disruptive LoC activities during a press conference in Muzaffarabad District by showing concrete evidence of their destabilization attempts. He noted that India has routinely used unprovoked firing as well as border area sabotage to target innocent civilians throughout its long historical period.

The official asserted that India deploys explosive substances to produce havoc on the Line of Control endpoints. Beginning in 2016 the border has experienced 54 planting incidents of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). The number of such incidents has dramatically increased in the border areas of Chakothi, Niza Peer, Cherikot, Rakhchakri, and Deva together with Batal and Kot Kotera and these twin zones have resulted in civilian losses.

The minister stated that Indian forces placed four IEDs in Batal Sector and Rawalakot between February 4 and 6 after which they violated the ceasefire through their forces in Deva and Bagsar Sectors on February 12. Pakistan filed official protests about Indian actions which included explosive smuggling activities and presented UN officials with solid proof of these actions.

Border security units document the arms smuggling routes into Azad Kashmir with assistance from Indian double agents while military channels are used for weapons and drugs passage according to Waqar Ahmed Noor.

The situation within the Indian Army was examined him as frustration has grown among service members triggering more fatal incidents. The Indian military attributes many deaths to cross-border firing incidents because it seeks to prevent observation of these deaths. The intervention and subversive operations of India extend throughout different nations as sources validate their activities beyond Azad Kashmir.
