MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has rejected the bail pleas of two accused in Jammu Kashmir National Students Federation (JKNSF) leader Mujtaba Bande assault case.
As per details, the high court judge rejected the bail pleas after the accused, Shahsawar and Ali Shamrez, failed to appear in court. Notably, police officer Raja Umair, also implicated in the case, did not apply for bail.
As per details, on March 20, Bande filed a case against core members of Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), Raja Sohaib Javed, Shamrez Abbasi, AJK police personnel Raja Umair, Raja Shahwar Azeem, Raja Fazail, and other unknown persons.
According to an FIR registered at Muzaffarabad Police Station, the accused called Bande to Raja Sohaib Javed’s hostel through a hoax call and subjected him to mental and physical torture.
SSP Muzaffarabad said that the police officer involved in the case has been suspended, yet he is set to receive a reward of Rs 50,000, raising concerns about departmental actions.
