MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir government has vowed to ensure availability of quality flour at the prescribed rates across the state.
A review meeting of District Food Controllers at the divisional level was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Director Food Muzaffarabad/Poonch Division Sardar Muhammad Saqib regarding the food situation, dumping, and uninterrupted supply of quality flour.
The meeting discussed in detail the inspection of mills and the quality of flour.
Meeting reviews availability of flour
The meeting comprehensively reviewed the food situation, availability of flour, quality, grinding standards, monitoring of dumping points, and performance of flour mills in all districts of Muzaffarabad and Poonch divisions.
The District Food Controllers briefed on the stock position of their districts, inspection of flour mills, reports of samples, and public issues, assuring that no complaints regarding quality and weight would be tolerated.
The meeting emphasized that field teams should be present on-site to immediately resolve public complaints and address every complaint on a priority basis.
Deputy Director Sardar Muhammad Saqib issued clear instructions, stating that surprise inspections of flour mills should be increased, and the quality of grinding, cleanliness, machinery, and wheat usage should be continuously monitored.
He said that providing quality flour to the public is top priority of the government. Reporting on the availability of flour at dumping points, flour mills, and the market should be done daily, field visits should be accelerated, and an integrated strategy should be adopted for the immediate resolution of public complaints, the officials were directed.
It is worth noting that while flour prices are low across the state, complaints of substandard flour are common at many places.
