MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government, implementing the agreement made with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), has abolished 7 posts of secretaries after dissolving the departments.
According to a press release issued by the PID, in light of the decision taken in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet meeting, administrative departments have been abolished and the posts of secretaries have been terminated in the interest of administrative efficiency.
The posts of Secretary Transport, Secretary Population Welfare, Secretary Disaster Management and Civil Defence, Secretary Tourism and Archaeology, Secretary Religious Affairs and Auqaf, Secretary Environmental Protection Agency and Secretary Information Technology have been abolished.
It is to be noted that the government had agreed with the Joint Awami Action Committee that number of departments would be brought down to 20, after which several departments were merged and now the posts of secretaries have been abolished.
It is also to be noted that at the JAAC demand, the federal government also issued health cards for Azad Kashmir, and from January 16, the public will have access to free treatment facilities.

The government of Azad Kashmir is implementing the agreement made with the Joint Awami Action Committee, but a deadlock has arisen over the abolition of refugee seats and the adjustment of refugee members in standing committees, and members of the Action Committee did not participate in the negotiations.
