MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Kashmir Food Authority has taken swift notice of the substandard ghee/oil being sold across the state and directed district officers to inspect it as per the public complaints.

The Food Department has declared the ghee and oil of 9 companies as substandard and ordered the seizure of their stocks.

According to the details, the notification issued by the Ministry of Food, Azad Kashmir, states that complaints are being received about the substandard ghee/oil being sold in Azad Kashmir.

All district officers should inspect the ghee and oil companies in their respective districts and the stocks of companies operating without licenses and permits should be seized immediately.

The notification of the Food Department has said that the products of the companies that have licenses and permits should also be tested immediately.

The Food Department has issued a letter to the officers of Muzaffarabad, Jhelum Valley, Neelum, Bagh, Haveli, Rawalakot, Sidhanoti, Kotli, Mirpur, and Bhimber.

The nine substandard ghee and oil brands include Zam Zam, Momin, Ladhan, Chairman, Safra, Aman Pasand, Afzal, Parcham, and Hamida Industry (including Kiran Banaspati).
