KOTLI (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Electricity Department on Monday announced the suspension schedule of the power supply for Kotli district.
According to the Electricity Department spokesperson, the power supply will remain suspended from February 17 to February 28 due to repair and branch-cutting work on various feeders.
Power will be shut off intermittently at different times in Kotli city and its suburbs to complete necessary maintenance, the notice said.
The areas that will effect from the power outage include Thalheer, Sardah, Ping Piran, Katia, Dhakhari, Sadiqabad, Jail Road, Roli Dhamul, Chowki Mong, Gulhar, Gulhar Colony, Karti, Tatta Pani and Goi.
Citizens have been directed to make alternative arrangements to avoid any kind of trouble.
In another development, Kashmir Digital reported that Azad Kashmir Food Department was supplying substandard and unhealthy flour in the Tatta Pani area in Kotli district, due to which the public is suffering from diseases.
According to sources, the food department supplied substandard flour to the civil supply depot in Tatta Pani and other areas, causing people to suffer from health issues.
Despite public complaints regarding the substandard essential item, the authorities are reluctant to take any notice against the concerned department for negligence and corruption, which is causing serious concern among the people.
The residents have requested Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, the Minister for Food, and other responsible officials to take notice and ensure the supply of quality flour to the public.
