SAMAHNI (Kashmir English): The Department of Agriculture, Azad Kashmir, is now offering high-grade maize seeds at various agriculture extension centres in Samahni. Its goal is to provide support to local farmers so they can achieve higher-quality maize crops this planting season.

Farmers in Samahni can now access the improved variety of maize seed, known as “Islamabad Gold,” at several agriculture centres.

These include the agriculture extension centres in Chowkri Samahni, Bandala, Choki, Pona, and Khamba. The introduction of high-quality maize seed is a way the department strives to improve crop growth across the region.

Farmers are advised to collect seeds from agricultural centres during the day they are open for business. They hope that using the improved maize seed will lead to both better crops and larger yields in Samahni.

In addition to that farmers are also being offered on-ground support. Field staff appointed at all centres are available to assist the farmers with important agricultural advice.

This comprises suggestions on seed planting, crop care, protection from diseases, fertiliser use, and general farming challenges. Farmers are strongly advised to consult with the field staff at their local centres.

These experts are trained to provide valuable suggestions that can help farmers overcome common issues in maize cultivation.

Assistance is offered for agricultural activities, whether to help farmers produce more or address problems caused by pests, to help everyone in the community.

The Department of Agriculture’s move to provide Islamabad Gold maize seeds in the market is especially useful for local farmers now.

It assures that the farmers have access to the right resources at the proper time. The department also urges all farmers to make full use of this opportunity by collecting seeds and looking for expert guidance.

The agriculture department remains focused on improving the quality of farming and boosting the practice in Azad Kashmir, along with educating local farmers on the potential of agricultural output.
