LAHORE (Kashmir English): Airblue, one of Pakistan’s leading private airlines, has announced the launch of two new weekly direct flights which will connect Lahore to Baku. They will begin operations in 2026 because their start date is set for May 2.

The new service will provide Pakistani travelers with expanded international travel options that better connect them to worldwide destinations. Under the new schedule, flights will operate twice weekly (Wednesdays and Saturdays), offering convenient non-stop service from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, to Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Baku, and return.

Airblue will operate the route with its Airbus A320 family aircraft according to the flight schedule. The flights will depart Lahore in the mid-morning, and the return flights will leave Baku in the afternoon.

The Lahore–Baku service is part of Airblue’s broader strategy to grow its international network and provide direct connectivity to popular business and leisure destinations in the region.

Baku has developed into a popular travel destination because it offers modern architectural design and elements of its historical past, as well as its tourism potential.

The route serves both business and leisure travelers because it provides access to one of Azerbaijan’s most important travel centers. Airblue operates as one of Pakistan’s largest private airlines, which provides both domestic and international services to major cities throughout the Middle East and other regions.

The airline operates a fleet that primarily consists of Airbus narrow-body aircraft, and this fleet expansion enables the airline to increase its route network in response to greater customer demand for direct travel between sites.

PIA direct Lahore to London flights

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will restart its flights to London after a six-year break. The initial flight will arrive at its destination on March 29, which represents a significant achievement for the restoration of UK flight services.

PIA had already resumed UK routes with Manchester flights in 2025, after the ban was lifted. The UK, EU, and US governments imposed bans on the country because of the 2020 Karachi plane crash and the resulting pilot licensing issues from that incident.

PIA currently intends to increase its flight operations throughout the UK because of its new ownership and organizational changes, which include multiple weekly flights to London and Manchester.

The process of expansion will only proceed after the company achieves financial stability, yet the organization has established a clear objective that involves restoring PIA operations while rebuilding global confidence.
