BAGH (Kashmir English): The residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK ) have been facing extreme weather conditions for the last few weeks. Flash floods have caused massive destruction in AJK, leaving several people stranded and damaging the houses, buildings, and livestock.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Bagh Raja Sadaqat Ali, Assistant Commissioner Bagh Syed Kaleem Abbas, along with the Naib Tehsildar and staff, visited the areas affected by the rains. He reviewed the loss of life and property due to the rains and met the affected people.
According to the details, due to the recent heavy rains and floods, houses, roads, and agricultural lands were damaged in various villages of the Bagh district. Teams were formed by the district administration on an emergency basis so that the losses could be estimated and immediate relief could be provided to the affected families.
While talking to the flood-affected people, Assistant Commissioner Bagh Syed Kaleem Abbas encouraged them and assured them that the administration would take all possible steps to resolve their problems.
He strictly directed the people to take precautionary measures in view of further rains and to implement the SOPs issued by the district administration.
He said that the protection of life and property of the public is the top priority of the government, so citizens should be informed and immediately inform the relevant institutions in case of any emergency.
