MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The process for upgradation of revenue records and replacing old records (Lathas) with new ones has been expedited in Mirpur district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir,, according to official sources.
“The process of transferring records from old Lathas (drawings on white cloth piece) to new ones, has been expedited”, said the official sources on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner Mirpur, Yasir Riaz, has directed for earliest completion of the process within the stipulated time frame.
The new ‘Latha’ drawings on white piece of clothes, will make it easier for the concerned land owners, farmers to identify their landholdings and resolve revenue cases swiftly besides making much easier the identification of landholdings for farmers, land owners besides quick resolution of revenue cases.
Computerized Land Record Center
Computerized Land Record Center had started functioning in Mirpur district in October last year.
The role of information technology is very important for the computerization of land records throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the instructions of the AJK government.
