LEEPA VALLEY (Kashmir English): The Government Girls Highschool Leepa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), which suffered damage during the 2005 earthquake, received its essential renovation during 2024.
The non-profit organization Ilmi-o-Adab made it possible for the school to construct a modern building which features 16 properly built rooms together with a completely equipped science laboratory.
The school faced continuous structural problems, which made activities between students and staff unsafe and therefore difficult to perform their educational tasks.
The recent school construction enhanced the academic area by supplying upgraded facilities and sufficient space, which conforms to present-day requirements. Students and parents, alongside the nearby community, have shown enthusiasm toward the general upgrade of Government Girls High School Leepa.
The institution leader showed appreciation for the received assistance as she explained that staff shortages remain a primary problem schoolwide.
She also urged the local community to enroll their children in government institutions like the Government Girls High School Leepa, emphasizing the presence of qualified staff and improved infrastructure.
Students emphasized the need for a proper boundary wall to secure safety and privacy at the school facility. They express gratitude for the new building yet emphasize the significance of constructing the boundary wall before everything else.
They also expressed their hope for the school authorities to construct the boundary wall as soon as possible. The students, together with their families, have maintained this demand as a constant request over time.
The enhancement of the Government Girls High School Leepa marks a significant progress in building up girls’ educational opportunities throughout the Leepa valley.
The school needs sustained backing from official authorities as well as community involvement to achieve complete equipment standards and overcome ongoing difficulties.
The story highlights why public schools need support to provide education and infrastructure to girls living in rural and underdeveloped areas.
